Dr. Monica Kim, PhD, is a presented to us about her journey in academia and psychiatry. Starting with an interest in biology, Dr. Kim changed course towards medicine after realizing one of her core motivations was to directly help people. She encourages us to do the same! Dr. Kim is an Assistant Professor of Medical Psychology (in Psychiatry) at Columbia University, where her research focus is Alzheimer’s disease. She is also a licensed psychotherapist in the state of New York.
